What is a CRMI?
A Council-certified Residential Mold Inspector (CRMI) has earned the only accredited certification in the field of residential mold inspection.
The CRMI is certified to perform limited mold screenings for purposes of property transfer.
To earn and maintain the CRMI, every candidate must:
-
Demonstrate at least two (2) years of verifiable field experience as a home inspector or licensed pest control operator
-
Pass a rigorous, psychometrically rated examination based on broad industry knowledge rather than a course curriculum
-
Earn the unanimous approval of the CRMI certification board
-
Re-certify every two years
-
Participate in 20 hours of professional development activities each year
-
Maintain the highest ethical standards
The CRMI certification is accredited by the Council for Engineering and Scientific Specialty Boards (CESB), a nationally recognized independent accreditation body. IAQ Council certifications are the ONLY designations in indoor air quality to earn CESB accreditation.
