Certification Policies:
The American Indoor Air Quality Council:
- does not allow certification board members to directly profit from their certification board activities.
- does not allow "trainers" or "course providers" to serve on our certification boards.
- does not have profit sharing or rebate agreements with any "trainers" or "course providers."
- does not allow certification board members to have possession of candidate files.
- does not endorse or promote any products.
Re-certification Policies:

It is the responsibility of the certificant to document credit hours for professional development for re-certification (RCs).

The IAQ Council reserves the right to refuse to grant registration of educational programs for RC status if the program duplicates the body of knowledge already evidenced by our certification programs. RCs will not be granted for programs sponsored by others who have certification programs, certification names or certification acronyms similar to those of the IAQ Council.
Re-certification Registration for For-Profit Providers:

It is the responsibility of the organization to obtain IAQ Council registration of educational content:

The organization must submit information about the event's date and location and formally request IAQ Council registration for RCs.

The organization must disclose how many hours of educational content are available at the event.

The organization may have the event listed on the IAQ Council website for a fee of $50 or $10 per credit hour, whichever is greater.

It is the responsibility of the attendee to obtain written documentation of attendance at each session of the event.

Upon completion of the event, the IAQ Council will grant 1.0 RC per hour of documented attendance at educational sessions that contribute to IAQ-related professional development. No partial credits are allowed.
Re-certification Registration for Non-Profit Organizations:

Return Policy:
Publications are eligible for return within 30 days of date of sale. Publications returned for credit or refund must be returned via insured carrier and received in saleable condition. Publications will not be exchanged unless they are defective or damaged.
Privacy Statement:
Generally, the IAQ Council uses data collected to improve response to certificate holders' interest and needs.
With the exception of basic contact information, the IAQ Council holds all certificant file information confidential.
The IAQ Council does not disclose credit card account information provided by its certificants or customers. When certificants and customers choose to pay using credit cards, the IAQ Council submits the information needed to obtain payment only to the appropriate clearinghouse through secure channels.
Certification Fee Policy:
All applicable fees are due and payable prior to the release of examination results. Once earned, the application fees (usually $100 ~ $200) are not refundable. If an individual is not awarded a certification designation, the certification fees (usually $200 ~ $250) are refundable. The IAQ Council is liable only for fees charged directly by the American Indoor Air Quality Council.
Logo Use Policy:
Use of the IAQ Council logo on websites, letterheads, business cards and other forms of address is limited to Council-certified individuals, organizations employing Council-certified individuals and duly formed chapters of the Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA). Note that the use of the IAQ Council logo on large items must be submitted for approval. Please call or email us for information on being forwarded the logo.
Use of Titles Policy:
A Council-certified professional may use the designation title with his/her name on organization letterheads, business cards and all forms of address. When using an IAQ Council designation, we encourage the spelling out of the designation fully in smaller print immediately below the signature block, as in the following example:

Council-certified Indoor Environmental Consultant™
Board-awarded by the American Indoor Air Quality Council™
Certification is for individuals only. IAQ Council
designations may not be used to imply that an organization or firm is
certified.
Non-discrimination Policy:
The American Indoor Air Quality Council considers and evaluates each application for certification on its merits, and without regard to the age, sex, race, religion, national origin, disability, or marital status of the applicant.
